Loretta Knight is Northeasterner. Born in New York City and raised in Connecticut she developed a love of the arts at an early age. She is also an opera-buff and traveled often to New York City to attend the Met and also the Met Museum of Art. She has attended Opera in 16 different countries.

Loretta pursued a modeling career during her high school days working for many illustrators in the Westport, Connecticut art community. A few years ago the US postal service released a series of postage stamps honoring US illustrators and one of the stamps featured an illustration of Loretta.


Loretta moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley in 1972 and opened her own real estate business. She was a Certified Property Manager and real estate broker in the state of West Virginia. She retired from this successful career and turned her talents to art. She now pursues her passion for art and is a full time well-known local artist. Her water colors, acrylics and pastel paintings as well as collage can be found at the Riverside Artists Gallery in Marietta and at the gift shop of the Art Center in Parkersburg.
